Our Mission
PIERCETON HERITAGE ASSOCIATION
The Pierceton Alumni Association was established prior to 1893 by graduates of the 1870 school. For many years thereafter, the Association hosted annual banquets to celebrate new graduates and foster lasting connections among alumni. The last class to have been graduated from Pierceton High School was the Class of 1971, prompting us, ultimately, to change our focus from what we were as high school graduates to what we can be today as members of the larger Pierceton community.
Today, we have become the Pierceton Heritage Association. Our mission is to honor and preserve the rich heritage and legacy of Pierceton while remaining an active and engaged part of the community. We collaborate with the Town of Pierceton and local businesses on projects that enhance the quality of life for residents and strengthen community ties.
We are developing a digital repository to preserve historical documents, photographs, videos, and personal stories—capturing the deeply connected histories of the town and its schools. Looking ahead, with sufficient resources and dedicated leadership, we envision creating a Pierceton Visitor’s Center that will house artifacts and exhibits, ensuring that our shared history is preserved and celebrated for generations to come.
Thanks to all the Substitute Grandparents who rolled into Pierceton Elementary on March 23 for Grandparents Day! A huge number of alumni supported the event and the elementary school folks appreciated your help. More importantly, those students whose grandparents couldn’t make it enjoyed having someone to show up for them.
Ever been on a scavenger hunt? Lots of fun, right? Well, starting June 1, 2026, you’ll have a chance to prove your sleuthing skills on the worldwide web as you learn some little-known facts about the Town of Pierceton and the schools that have been a part of our history. We’ll even present a small prize to the winner of the contest during the July 27 banquet.
Check back here on June 1 for details about how to get the digital scavenger hunt questions and rules.

Joan Hostetler of Heritage Photo & Research Services in Indianapolis has digitized two more of our historical documents. In the Secretary’s Record 1944-2014, you can re-live the memories of the alumni banquet that honored your class! If you are really in to numbers, check out the annual Treasurer’s Report 1967 – 2023 where you’ll see the financial progress we’ve made in the past 56 years. View these and other historical documents on our WHAT’S HAPPENING page.
Want to see how cool you looked in your halcyon days at Pierceton High School? You can see all of the old PHS yearbooks HERE, including the 1948 edition entitled Our Trails and the 1952 edition entitled Memory Lane. You can also find copies of the Pierceton Elementary School yearbooks from 1989 through 2007.
In 2016, we dedicated the Pierceton School Memorial Tribute in front of the new Pierceton Elementary School. In 2020, we established a permanent display of PHS memorabilia at the Whitko Career Academy. See some of the other things we’ve done HERE!

Honoring Our Legacy
PHA is committed to honoring the shared legacy and history of the Pierceton Schools and the Town of Pierceton. For nearly 150 years, multiple generations of families attended classes in at two Pierceton High School buildings and brought honor to the school and the community. We are committed to working with the Town to find ways to discover and promote our histories and keep them relevant and alive for students who attend the Pierceton Elementary School.

Embracing Our Heritage
PHA began our modern era of service in 2014 by constructing the Pierceton School Memorial Tribute, located at the entrance to the Pierceton Elementary School. In the next year we restored and displayed Senior Class photos (1913 – 1971), digitized school yearbooks (1948 – 1971), and restored old sports trophies and other artifacts from the school. We maintain a display of memorabilia at the Whitko Career Academy. We are joining the Town of Pierceton in similar endeavors in the future.
